About me

I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, working from a comfortable therapy room in the Buckinghamshire market town of Princes Risborough, close to Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Thame, Chinnor and surrounding areas. There is easy access from J4 of the M40.  I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the largest professional body representing counselling and psychotherapy in the UK, and adhere to their Ethical Framework. I work with adults (18+) from all cultures, orientations and backgrounds and have experience of working with people who are struggling with a broad range of emotional issues.

Before I qualified as a counsellor I worked clinically in the NHS for many years, mainly in the fields of neurology and cancer care. The medical knowledge and experience I gained through this work has given me a particular understanding and interest in the links between our physical and emotional health.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked for a number of years as a counsellor at South Bucks Counselling, a charity in High Wycombe offering reduced cost counselling to the local community. I continue to update my skills and learning by regularly attending Continuing Professional Development courses. As is mandatory for all counsellors, I receive clinical supervision in order to maintain the highest standard of practice. I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS check.
